Careers Development Group provides a Grants scheme to jobseekers using its services. The aim of the scheme is to support individuals in need and to provide additional charitable support for CDG’s current customers.
The Grants Scheme approves and issues out a number of grants for diverse needs. Over 120 requests were received in the second quarter of 2008 and over £11,000 was allocated.
The main focus of the Grants scheme is to ensure that our customers feel supported and that the scheme helps them to gain confidence in themselves and in what they are capable of achieving.
Clothing grants have given many customers a necessary boost by equipping them with suitable and presentable attire to take on new jobs or to attend interviews with confidence.
Certification grants including SIA licensing, refresher courses and first aid training have been substantial over the past quarter. Clients obtained jobs and developed their CVs by attending these courses.
The Grants Scheme also assists customers in a range of situations including:
- Welfare assistance
- Transport costs
- Individual therapy
- Short Term pre-employment courses.
- Purchase of customized training not funded through existing JCP or other funding
- arrangements.
- CRB Checks.
