JOHN NORMAN

John is a senior management generalist with board level experience in both the corporate and voluntary sectors and particular expertise in operational management, business continuity planning and crisis management, HR and social regeneration.

Until recently, John was head of business continuity planning with BAA Airports Ltd. Over a long career with BAA, he also served as HR director at Stansted and Gatwick Airports and as airport security manager at Gatwick.

While HR director at Stansted Airport, John led an employment strategy to enable residents of East and North East London gain employment at the developing airport. During this period he was also a founder member of Essex Learning and Skills Council.

John was recently appointed to the Finance and Audit Board of Poplar HARCA a resident-led housing, regeneration and community association, who manage 8,500 homes in Poplar, East London.
